1. Introduction Welcome to JawCheck, operated by VitalOrtho (“we,” “us,” or “our”). We are committed to protecting your personal and health information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use the JawCheck application to screen, track, and manage Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) symptoms.
2. Information We Collect To provide you with a comprehensive assessment and screening summary, we collect the following types of information:
- Personal Information: Name, contact information, and demographic details.
- Health & Symptom Data: Information you provide regarding TMJ symptoms (e.g., jaw clicking, locking, facial pain), pain intensity levels, mobility (the 3-Finger test), and relevant medical/dental history.
- Camera & Video Data: If you opt to use the movement tracking feature, we collect a short video recording of your jaw movement. This facial data is used exclusively to assist in your personal assessment profile.
- ChatTMD Interactions: Text inputs, questions, and conversational data submitted to our AI assistant, ChatTMD.
- Usage Data: Application logs and usage metrics to help us improve the app’s performance.
3. How We Use Your Information We use your data exclusively to:
- Generate a structured screening and assessment summary of your TMJ symptoms.
- Power the ChatTMD assistant to provide relevant, educational information regarding jaw health.
- Securely transmit your screening results to your designated dental professional or practice (e.g., Dr. Afzali / Lifetime Dental) for clinical review, if you choose to book a consultation.
- Maintain, secure, and improve the JawCheck application.
4. Data Storage and Security Your data is stored securely using enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure (Google Firebase). We implement strict security measures, including encryption at rest and in transit, to protect your sensitive health and biometric information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
5. Sharing Your Information We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal, biometric, or health data to third parties. We only share your data under the following circumstances:
- Healthcare Providers: Your screening results and inputted data are shared with your designated healthcare provider only if you actively choose to share them to assist in your clinical evaluation.
- Service Providers (AI Processing): To operate the ChatTMD feature, your chat inputs may be securely processed by trusted third-party artificial intelligence providers. This data is strictly used to generate responses in real-time and is not used to train public AI models.
6. Your Rights and Data Deletion Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data stored within JawCheck.
